JOB TITLE: ES-Employment Interviewer II
START SALARY: $13.16 per hour
LOCATION: Jackson WIN Job Center

JOB DUTIES: Position will provide ES/WIA services, as well as interview and occupationally classify and place individuals in jobs and training. Position will provide follow-up and exit services for WIA participants. Will contact and provide various services to employers and promote the continued use of the MDES labor exchange services. Position will also interview and process REA/EUC, and profiling orientations, as well as other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education and Training:
Completion of two (2) years employment with MS Department of Employment Security as an Employment Interviewer I or ES- Employment Counselor I
or
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university
or
Graduation from a standard four year high school or equivalent (GED) and four (4) years of experience related to the described duties.
And
Preferred Experience:
Two (2) years of experience in a directly related field.
Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities related to performance of job:
Good interpersonal skills; excellent customer service skills, good verbal/written communication skills; time management and organizational skills; computer literate, ability to work independently and in teams, attention to detail, ability to multitask.

MDES state service (status) employees, probationary state service, part-time, time-limited and/or other non-state service positions within the purview of the Mississippi
State Personnel Board, must be employed in their current position for at least six (6)
Months before they are eligible to apply for open positions within the MDES. This policy
